ABOUT ME
Rick Lemieux is a comedian, event host, and DJ based in Timmins, Ontario. After a 20-year career as a police officer, Rick stepped away from policing to pursue his passion for comedy and entertainment. Drawing on his years in law enforcement, Rick uses humour to highlight the challenges, realities, and sometimes absurd moments of police work while offering audiences a unique and relatable perspective.
Rick released his first comedy album in 2023, which is available on all major streaming platforms. He later released his second comedy album and comedy special, I Know My Rights…, continuing to build his presence in the Canadian comedy scene. Rick is also the founder of the Timmins Comedy Festival, an event that has helped raise thousands of dollars for local non-profit organizations.
In addition to performing stand-up comedy, Rick now operates BSharp Sound Solutions, where he provides professional DJ services, event hosting, and entertainment for weddings, parties, corporate events, and community gatherings. Rick can perform comedy, host events, DJ, or provide a complete entertainment package with professional sound and lighting to help make any event memorable.
Before leaving policing, Constable Rick served as the Community Policing Officer in local schools from 2004 to 2018. During that time, he delivered hundreds of presentations to students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 on topics such as anti-bullying, bicycle safety, and making positive life choices. He became a D.A.R.E. officer in 2004 and a D.A.R.E. mentor in 2007, and has trained more than 500 officers from the O.P.P., the R.C.M.P., and municipal police services across Canada.
Rick is also the author of two books, “The Bully and the Bystander” and “A Good Circle of Friends.” In 2013, a DVD featuring Rick, George Stroumboulopoulos, and several other guests was released, covering topics such as when to call 911, having a positive attitude, and reporting bullying.
In recognition of his work supporting youth and the community, Rick received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, the Rotary Club Paul Harris Award, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2024.
Rick is the proud father of two children, Nicholas and Sophie, and has been married to his wife Manon since 2002.
